Overview

We have all heard a lot recently about the social construct known as DEI or Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Besides its obvious connection to our communities and workplaces, DEI is a significant issue for all employees as well, both personally and professionally. Every employee has all the right to work in a safe environment, free from discrimination, harassment, bullying, hazing, or retaliation. This is especially important for employees in protected classes, which encompasses most of them. Our collective and individual understanding of DEI in the HR office helps us help our teams and departments work together more effectively as employees and can help our departments recruit, retain, promote, and supervise all employees in ways that are fair, legal, ethical, and supportive. This virtual workshop covers what HR professionals at all levels should know about helping to build inclusivity in the workforce.

DEI awareness involves more than just a discussion about race, gender, or sexual orientation. We can also talk about it as a way to establish better boundaries in our workspaces, to create more effective solutions for our work with clients, customers, visitors, taxpayers, or vendors. We can initiate and activate DEI programs safely, legally, and without drama and still support the different work cultures of our multi-disciplinary departments.

Our collective knowledge of DEI actually gives us a competitive advantage over our competitors. The more we know about our customers and clients, the better we can communicate, serve their needs, and do our jobs, as we aim to build a lasting trust in what we are trying to do on their behalf.

This virtual training session is presented by Dr. Steve Albrecht, an HR consultant who has taught this material for public agencies and private sector firms for over 30 years. He knows how to present this material in a way that is supportive of every participant. Join us for this informative course and be well on your way to strengthening DEI practices at your organization!
