Barry Howard

Barry Howard is a founding member and practices with the Nashville law firm of Howard, Tate, Sowell, Wilson, Leathers & Johnson, PLLC. He is a 1975 graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he majored in accounting and graduated from the UT College of Law in 1977. His practice has primarily consisted of representing defendants in automobile accidents, premises liability, products liability, and professional liability cases. He has tried over 200 jury trials to verdict in both state and federal courts and has also argued appellate cases in the Tennessee Court of Appeals, Tennessee Supreme Court, and the U. S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. Barry became a Rule 31 listed mediator in Tennessee in April 2007 and since that time has served as mediator in over 2000 cases. These cases include personal injury, health care liability, employment disputes, commercial, construction and first party insurance claims.
