Karen Newhouser, RN, BSN, CCM, CCDS, CCDS-O, CCS, CDIP, CCM, is the CDI content manager for AMN Healthcare Revenue Cycle Solutions in Tampa, Florida. A nurse with 40 years of experience, Newhouser has extensive experience in quality initiatives as well as ICD-10 education, auditing, data analysis, and reporting. She transitioned to CDI in 2004. In 2015, she earned the ACDIS CDI Professional of the Year Award, and she has served on the ACDIS Advisory Board.
