Kimberly Huff, BA, COC, CCDS, is the clinical validation denials coordinator for Providence St. Joseph Health System, headquartered in Renton, Washington, where she averages a 70%–75% overturn rate. Prior to entering CDI, she worked in case management and utilization review. Over time, she expanded her skill set to include CDI implementation, CDI quality audits, corporate coding and compliance audits, provider education, RAC auditing, as well as DRG and clinical validation denials and appeals.
