Kristen Wheeler, the executive director of private duty at the National Association for Home Care and Hospice, has been working In healthcare since 1990. In 2004, she was asked to create a private duty program for a Medicare-certified home care and hospice agency. Realizing private duty home care should operate independently, Wheeler co-owned a standalone private duty agency for several years before moving into the association world. She spent nearly six years with the Home Care Association of Florida, building a robust private duty-specific membership that continues to thrive, before joining the NAHC team in early 2021.
