Mary Elizabeth (M.E.) VanGelder, RN, MEd, CCDS, RHIT, is a CDI trainer at HonorHealth in Scottsdale, Arizona. She began her CDI career in 2014 at Mayo Clinic Hospital and now provides physician and staff education across all of HonorHealth’s facilities. With 30 years of nursing experience, including five years in case management, VanGelder is a frequent ACDIS speaker and contributor. She is a member of the HIM Advisory Council for Phoenix College, a current co-chair of the Arizona ACDIS Chapter, and a founding co-chair of the ACDIS CDI Educator Networking Group. She is also a member of the 2020-2021 ACDIS Events Committee.
