Maureen Bucci, RN, CCDS, is a CDI auditor at SCL Health in Broomfield, Colorado. She has more than 20 years of nursing experience in trauma, emergency department, surgical and medical ICU, and quality management. After her bedside career, Bucci entered CDI, working as a CDI specialist, a CDI consultant, and a CDI manager at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. In her current role, she audits CDI staff for coding accuracy, query creation and validity, missed opportunities, work process adherence, query impact assignment, and education feedback.
