Amber Horton, BSN, RN, CCDS, graduated from Ball State University in December 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In the early years of her career, she worked in family practice, endoscopy, ophthalmology, the post-anesthesia care unit, secondary recovery, and the surgical admissions unit. Of her 20-plus years of nursing experience, most were spent in surgery as a circulator. Horton transitioned into her CDI journey in June 2015, earning her CCDS certification in March 2018.
