Charrington Morell, BSN, RN, CCDS, was the original member of the CDI team at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in 2009. Following a consultant-led “boot camp,” she joined the Florida chapter of ACDIS and served as vice president. She has attended the ACDIS conference almost every year. Morell’s 25 years of nursing experience encompass ICU/CCU, telemetry, case management, and home healthcare. In 2013, she was promoted to CDI manager of HCA’s West Florida Division, then advanced to director of CDI in 2015. She leads a staff of 24 CDI professionals in 15 facilities.
